2015 Shop with a Trooper

Princeton, KY. – On Thursday, December 10, 2015, the Kentucky State Police Professional Association (KSPPA) District 2 conducted its 19th annual “Shop with a Trooper” (S.W.A.T.) program. This program is designed to assist children in need during the Christmas season.

Forty-four children, their families, KSP troopers, and KSP familiesIMG_2953 met at the Area 2 Fire & Rescue Training Center in Princeton. Pizza was provided to everyone courtesy of the Godfather’s of Princeton. Drinks and paper products were donated by the Wal-Mart of Princeton. The Sonic Drive-In of Princeton treated everyone to ice cream.

IMG_1256After dinner, personnel from Post 2, and their families, assisted the children with their shopping at the Princeton Wal-Mart. The shopping lists consisted of several items including coats, pants, shirts, shoes, hats, gloves, and toys.

The Kentucky State Police would like to thank the following for making this year’s program such a success: Charbon Contracting LLC, Godfather’s of Princeton, Johnson’s Sales & Service, Kelly’s Towing (Alvin Oates), Sonic Drive-In of Princeton, Tom Toler, Trice Hughes Inc, The Trooper Campaign Inc, Wal-Mart of Princeton (Allen Dixon Store Manager), and others who wish to remain anonymous.

Shop with a Trooper scheduled for 2015

Our annual Shop with a Trooper (S.W.A.T.) program has been scheduled for December 10th. 2012 Shop with a Trooper

img_0124Thirty-seven (37) children, their families, KSP troopers and KSP CVE officers met at the Area 2 Fire & Rescue Training Center in Princeton where everyone was treated to pizza and drinks courtesy of the Princeton Wal*Mart.  After dinner, everyone was treated to ice cream courtesy of the Princeton Sonic.

Next was the shopping trip to the Princeton Wal*Mart where the troopers and the officers assisted the children and their families with the shopping.  Several items of clothing were purchased including coats, jeans, shirts, shoes, hats, and gloves.  Toys were also purchased.

2011 Shop with a Trooper

The 2011 Shop with a Trooper was held December 8th. The children and their parents, Troopers, and CVE officers gathered at the First Baptist Church Christian Life Center in Princeton, KY where they were treated to pizza and drinks courtesy of Wal*Mart, followed by Ice cream for desert donated by Sonic of Princeton.

The KSPPA and the KY State Police would like to thank the many contributors for their donations this year.

2010 Shop with a Trooper

Our 2010 Shop with a Trooper was a huge success. We had 34 children this year. We started the night off at the Area 2 State Fire Rescue Training Center with Pizza provided by Alan Dixon and Wal*Mart and ice cream provided by Sonic of Princeton. We then moved on to Walmart where the children shopped for clothes, shoes, and coats with their parents, grandparents and Troopers and CVE officers.
